How dangerous is the height?

Low air pressure and physical exertion make themselves felt at altitude. One third of mountaineers show mild symptoms of altitude sickness. These are headaches, fatigue, dizziness, nausea or, rarely, shortness of breath. Especially a too fast ascent favors the suffering. Time for acclimatization and sufficient water reduce the risk of illness.
